Matt moved to Berks County in 1983 from Maryland, Massachusetts and western New York State. While in Maryland in the late 70's, he discovered Bluegrass thanks to groups such as The Seldom Scene, Country Gentlemen and The Johnson Mt Boys.
Matt has listened to and sung along with country music since his teens while everyone else had Beatlemania.
While in Berks County, Matt has sung with Earl Osenbach's group The King's Gospelaires and after that he and two friends formed Glorybound--a three man bluegrass band. He is currently a member of Blue Mt Junction and fills in with other bands when they need a guitar or vocal.
Matt sings lead but has more fun singing the high tenor parts in bluegrass tunes.
Matt has performed with the Acoustic Road Show for over ten years. You might find him at the Bower's Chili Fest, Kutztown Folk Festival, Lyons Fiddle Fest or sometimes at the Thursday night jam in Centreport.
Matt writes songs also and one of his favorites is Redtail which combines his love of music with his love for nature especially birds of prey.
