This young family from Newmanstown, Lebanon County had contacted the Roadshow thru the web site and auditioned Friday,Sept 3rd. 2004
They showed up with a van full of people. As they unloaded they kept
getting shorter and younger. Marilyn and I didn't know what to think as they spread out all over our back porch. Each had an instrument in hand of various sizes. After they lined up with little room to spare, they started to play. The music started out slow and gradually progressed into a song at full speed. At first it seemed it wasn't going to pick up, little did I know that was by design. Half way thru the first song we knew this crew was special! After a few songs, 8yr old Brian and 6yr old Christy got out their guitar(Brian) and fiddle(Christy) and did Old Joe Clark! Wait, this gets better, then Emily and Melissa took turns at Irish dancing all over my backyard. Dad takes his licks on his acoustic while Mom covers the Bass work. Friend of the family, Earl Pyles on an electric drum set rounds
out this amazing sound. Three year old Zach isn't doing anything yet
but you know it's only a matter of time. I really didn't know what to expect when Nelson said they only played at two retirement homes and that was it for experience. I can tell you, "they're ready" Go see the Martins and hang on to your lawn chairs!
